Purchase timing should be listed after the technical package is complete. Coordinators should gather current model photos, operating logs, cleaning records, target water quality, vessel details, and any qualification notes before asking procurement to compare pricing across possible replacement paths. Reviewers should treat a bare model number as a clue rather than an answer because two 8040 elements can share diameter and length while diverging on feed spacer, cleaning tolerance, pressure class, recovery window, and expected rejection under the site’s actual water chemistry.
